A Day-long Workshop on Financial Statement Analysis for Securities Valuation An International Perspective
Accounting for Capital Market Development (ACMD) is a research project administered under the Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and the World Bank. ACMD will offer a day-long “Workshop on Financial Statement Analysis for Securities Valuation: An International Perspective” in the University of Dhaka. The program will focus on fundamental valuation of securities traded in stock exchanges. A motivation is to present a coherent framework of financial statement analysis for fundamental valuation of stocks and securities and for making informed investment decisions. Program Description
The program will cover the following main topics: (i) Understanding Financial Statements for Investment Decisions; (ii) Profitability and Growth Analysis; (iii) Valuation Models: An Evaluation of Dividend Discount Model, Free Cashflow Model , Abnormal Earnings Valuation Model, and Residual Income Valuation Model. (iv) Equity Valuation in Practice, and (v) Decision Usefulness of Financial Accounting Information: An Experimental Study of Institutional Investors.

Eligibility Criteria: The workshop is designed for financial analysts, investment managers, capital market journalists and investors in general. Applicants are expected to have graduate degrees from any recognized university in any discipline. A working experience in corporate business, capital market journalism and academic/research institutions is desirable.

Fees: Interested candidates shall pay a fee of Tk. 2,000 each payable by account payee check or a pay order in favor of Accounting for Capital Market Development (ACMD). Payment can be made on the program date.
Certification: Participants shall receive a certificate of participation from the University of Dhaka at the end of the program.
